Financing Your Attendance
We are pleased that you registered for the Women’s Energy Entrepreneurship Workshop. In order to assist you in attending, we have put together some information on financing your attendance.

There are several options for attendees to garner funding to attend the Workshop:

-
Ask your organization or institution to sponsor you or provide a partial sponsorship. By attending the conference you can make contacts and collect and share valuable information that may be relevant to your organization.
-
Look for scholarships or grants to attend. If you are part of an educational institution, they may offer conference grant opportunities. Local service and civic organizations may also sponsor part or all of your attendance (such as Rotary International, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, etc.). Try writing a letter or speaking to a contact at one of these organizations.
-
Raise funding from an online crowdfunding platform such as IndieGoGo or GoFundMe. Crowdfunding helps an individual get small pieces of funding from family, friends, and other acquaintances.
-
Write off some of your expenses on your taxes. As the workshop can be considered a business expense, you should be able to deduct travel expenses (airfare, lodging, food) on your taxes, given that they are not reimbursed. Consult a local tax professional to understand how this may apply to you.
Anticipated costs of attending the conference can be broken down in the following items; however, the cost of attending will vary per person, by preferences and location:

-
Flight
-
Accommodation (at Safari Park Hotel single rooms are $200/night and double rooms are $240/night; Alternatively there are nearby hotels that are more inexpensive)
-
Dinners (Lunch is provided at the workshop. If staying at the Safari Park Hotel, breakfast is included in the room rate)
